Cuisinart has a solid reputation when it comes to kitchen devices and appliances. The Cuisinart SS-10 Premium coffee brewer is yet another solid addition to their supply of well-designed and well-made appliances. While not perfect, this versatile single-serve coffee machine can certainly deliver a good cup of coffee.

The Cuisinart SS-10 is the replacement for their discontinued popular Cuisinart SS-700 model.  Please note that this is not an upgrade from previous Cuisinart models in all aspects.  While the SS-10 has some cool features and does some things better the reservoir is smaller and the machine is made of lighter plastic material.  If you read the customer reviews on the main shopping websites there is probably a 50/50 mix of people who think the SS-10 is better and those who wish they still had their older model.  The one big upgrade is the SS-10 does have a faster brew time and a much lighter and smaller footprint than previous models.

Cleaning the Cuisinart SS-10 is a breeze.  All the components on the brewer are easily removable so you can wash easily in the sink or dishwasher.  This device will even give you alerts when descaling is needed.

Cuisinart SS-10 Review Final Impressions

In our humble opinion, the Cuisinart SS-10 is a quality single-serve coffee maker.  It has a large water reservoir, makes a quick and hot cup of coffee, and you don’t have to worry about what K-cups you buy.  The Cuisinart is cheaper than almost all versions of Keurig’s and most customers that have had both prefer the Cuisinart SS-10.  For us, it’s kind of similar to an iPhone vs. Android phone.  There are great features for both but the bottom line comes to what you want most from a single-serve coffee maker.  For the most part, the Cuisinart is the cheaper, faster, more versatile machine.

The funny thing when researching this single-serve coffee machine was that the majority of consumers who had the previous Cuisinart SS-700 model seemed disappointed with this newer replacement.  They felt this newer device was made of cheaper plastic since it’s smaller and lighter and that the water reservoir is actually smaller as well.  The SS-10 was admittedly faster when brewing and there were actually a few consumers who preferred this newer version.

All-in-all the Cuisinart SS-10 is probably for those who want to try something different than a Keurig or just want to save some money and have most of the features a Keurig has.  If you love your Keurig then we suggest to just stay with them.  This an excellent practical appliance that has a small footprint so it would make a good choice for a college dorm room, small apartment, office, or just any normal home.
