On this Valentine’s Day spend some time cuddled up with your partner and enjoy some of these romantic movies. The movies we have selected are romantic movies for couples. In the future, we may post some heartbreak or different types but today it’s all about the happy endings.
1. Valentine’s Day (2010)
This movie has an all-star cast and is entertaining. Plus with the just title alone, it makes a great watch on Valentine’s Day. Enjoy some laughs and warm feelings watching this movie with your partner this Valentine’s Day.
2. The Wedding Singer (1998)
Starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore this classic takes place in the ’80s. If you lived through the 80s be prepared to go down memory lane from fashion to music. This movie will make you laugh and you will definitely be entertained.
3. Always Be My Maybe (2019)
This romantic comedy starring Ali Wong and Randall Park is about childhood sweethearts reconnecting after 15 years. The old feelings are still there but the couple live in different worlds as we watch them navigate through the awkwardness. A must-see guest appearance by Keanu Reeves adds to the entertainment.
4. My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002)
Toula Portokalos finds the perfect guy for her and she has to introduce him to her huge Greek family. This is no ordinary Greek family. They are deep into Greek culture so it worries Toula about breaking the news to her family that he is not Greek. This movie is cute, funny, and you will never view Windex the same again!
5. Sleepless in Seattle (1993)
Sam Baldwin (Tom Hanks) wife dies and he and his son decide to move to Seattle to start over. Sam’s son Jonah calls into a national-talk radio show to find a new wife for his father. Sam grudgingly discusses his feelings on the show. Annie Reed (Meg Ryan) a reporter from Baltimore hears his story and falls in love with Sam even though she is engaged. She writes a letter asking Sam to meet her at the Empire State Building on Valentine’s Day.
6. The Notebook (2004)
There is no denying this is one of the most romantic films of the 21st century. When mentioning romantic movies The Notebook always makes list. Starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling this movie tells the couple’s love story from the time they meet until their deaths.
7. Enchanted (2007)
The movie Enchanted is more than a kid’s movie. This film is a funny and adorable story about love. The chemistry between Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey makes this movie a pleasure to watch.
8. The Big Sick (2017)
This film is based on the real-life story of comedian Kumail Nanjiani and his wife. Kumail plays himself in the movie and Zoe Kazan plays Emily his wife. Emily falls mysteriously ill right after she and Kumail break up. Emily goes into a coma and Kumail tries to prove he is the person for Emily and that he still loves her very much!
9. The Fault in Our Stars (2014)
Well, this movie doesn’t have a happy ending necessarily but the love story told is so romantic and fitting for Valentine’s Day. This film is a tragic love story starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort. They play two teenagers coping with cancer. I know not the most romantic premise but watch for yourself to see why we list this movie as a good movie to watch on Valentine’s Day.
10. It’s Complicated (2009)
Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, and Steve Martin star in this movie comedy. Jane (Streep) meets a new love interest (Martin) and really takes a liking to him. Meanwhile, her ex-husband (Baldwin) tries to rekindle their relationship after he realizes what is missing out on. Follow this love story that has hilarious moments for an entertaining watch.
11. Notting Hill (1999)
In this rom-com, Julia Roberts plays a famous actress Anna Scott, who just wants a normal life. In Notting Hill, London she meets an awkward British bookshop owner Will Thacker (Hugh Grant). Will and Anna fall in love but since they live very different lives this is a huge roadblock to their quirky relationship.
12. Ghost (1990)
Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze, and Whoopi Goldberg star in this romantic thriller. This film is about a young woman whose murdered lover attempts to save her from the same fate.
13. Dirty Dancing (1987)
This movie is a classic for a reason. It’s about a summer romance in the Catskills. It has drama, humor, and lots of dancing. But at its core it’s about changing the way people see you along with a love story.
14. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
This movie is based on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew and is set in Seattle in the late 1990s. Kat Stratford (Julia Stiles) is a smart teen who doesn’t have an interest in boys or normal teenage things. Her younger sister Bianca (Larisa Oleynik) wants to date and be a normal teenager. The issue is that their father won’t let Bianca date unless her sister Kat does.
A new student Cameron ( Joseph Gordon-Levitt) pays bad boy Patrick (Heath Ledger) to take out Kat so he can try and date Bianca. What could go wrong? Even though it’s predictable this movie is funny, romantic, and a cult classic.
15. The Bodyguard (1992)
This film stars Whitney Houston as a celebrity who needs protection. Kevin Costner plays Houston’s bodyguard turned lover. The soundtrack is awesome as well.
16. You’ve Got Mail (1998)
Another Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan movie makes the list. In this movie, two business rivals try to become friends and little do they know they are actually communicating with each other behind anonymous email addresses.
17. When Harry Met Sally…(1989)
Meg Ryan is probably the queen of rom-coms and this film is arguably the greatest romantic comedy of all time. Watch the infectious and incredible chemistry between Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan in this classic film.
18. Love, Simon (2018)
This movie follows a gay teenager ( Nick Robinson ) who is the closet. It follows his journey of finding someone that gives him the confidence to be comfortable in his own skin.
19. Pretty Woman (1990)
This movie is a modern take on Cinderella. This was the role that made Julia Roberts a movie star. The basic premise is that a wealthy businessman and a prostitute fall in love with each other after Edward (Richard Gere) hires Vivian (Julia Roberts) to stay with him the weekend. They discover there are significant hurdles to overcome as they are from very different worlds.
20. Casablanca (1942)
When people think of romantic movies Casablanca is right up at top. This classic drama stars Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman as former lovers who reunite in Morocco during WWII. Their reunion is disrupted when the women needs help to escape the country from her former flame. To add on to this the women is asking that he help her new husband escape as well to America.
21. Titanic (1997)
When people think love stories the movie Titanic is always in the conversation. James Cameron’s “Titanic” is an action packed romance about the voyage of the famous ship the Titanic. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet this is a story of a wealthy woman and a poor man that fall in love and the obstacles they have to face. As a bonus the soundtrack is killer as well!
22. Lady and the Tramp (1955)
Here is movie you can watch with kids if you have any. It’s about a dog from a wealthy home that has romantic adventures with a stray dog. This is a classic movie and everyone know the iconic spaghetti scene.
23. Crazy Rich Asians (2018)
Rachel (Constance Wu) has no idea that her boyfriend Nick (Henry Golding) comes from one of the wealthiest families in Asia. She’s in for a rude awakening as Nick’s mother (Michelle Yeoh) and grandmother have issues with the relationship. Will love win out in the end or are they doomed since they are from very different backgrounds. Funny, dramatic, and a romantic love story. Just perfect to watch with your Valentine.
24. The Princess Bride (1987)
This is a classic film that can be watched anytime. But the perfect excuse to watch it again is for Valentine’s Day. This is a classic fairy tale of the Man in Black and the Princess Bride. Watch how they deal with the obstacles of coming from very different backgrounds. Watch this classic film again and again “As you wish”.
25. Say Anything (1989)
I am sure you have seen some kind of reference to John Cusack holding a boombox over his head playing “In Your Eyes”. This movie follows the journey of a couple as they navigate the time between the end of high school and college.
